I have a teeth filled some years ago and crowned. Recently the crown damaged and dentist says the whole teeth?

to be removed and suggests implant. Is it worth and how much it usually costs (I dont want to be cheated on the cost I have no idea)?

it's very expensive but if you have good insurance, you should probably go for it. if the rest of your teeth are shot i'd say go with a bridge.
Reply:Implants in IL are around $3000.00 start to finish, they should be done buy an experienced oral surgeon or periodontist, not your general dentist. It takes 3-6 months sometimes longer from start to finish. You have to extract the tooth, place the implant, give it time to heal and bone to adhere to implant. Uncover it once healed, and do the restorative work ( by your general DDS) Your age and other teeth factors play a role in the decision.
Reply:did the crown break off with tooth inside??? is there decay too near the pulp chamber???...is it a front tooth??? back tooth...many questions...implants are a good thing...they are costly...paying the oral surgeon for the implant and then the general dentist for the crown on the implant...costly but better than having a missing tooth.
