Does getting a bridge on your teeth hurt?

i had a root canal done on one of my bottom right molors, and then half of my tooth fell out. i just got the rest of it pulled out yesterday and i was told i was to either get a titanium rod put into my jaw for an implant, or a bridge. i cant afford the implant so im going to have to have the bridge and i was juts wondering if that was painful at all

Does getting a bridge on your teeth hurt?
No. The dentist will prepare the tooth (or teeth...depending on what type of bridge you're getting) next to the teeth which are missing or have had root canals on them. Preparing the tooth entails anesthetic, changing the shape of the tooth/teeth (so the bridge will be fixed perfectly), taking impressions (so the lab can make the bridge for you), and a temporary tooth will be made for you (so you can go about your regular activities).

When the bridge is placed, it's simply cemented. An x-ray will be taken for your chart information, and you will be on your merry way.

It usually takes 1 to 3 weeks for a bridge to be made/placed.
Reply:No its not painfull, you will get novican and maybe when the numbness wears off you will be a bit sore from the needle but thats all.
Reply:a bridge is cake compared to a root canal. the worst part of it is making the mold for the new tooth/teeth and you have to sit with goo in your mouth til it hardens for maybe 30 seconds. i have had both implants and bridges. bridges is the way to go if you can...
Reply:no it doesnt hurt... the dentist will just have to fill in the gap with a set of new fake teeth.
