Tooth question!!?

I absolutely HATE the dentist... I hate it. I go 2xs a year for my cleaning but even for that I wind up having anxiety attacks.. I really have two questions!

1,) One of my molars (well, actually 3, but only 1 that i am having problems with) is still a babytooth. Like for those 3 I have no permanent teeth. Everydentist I have had has been amused because usually they come in pairs. Anyway, when I first went to the dentist, I had a cavity in one on the upper right side. It was filled but about 3 years ago the filling fell out and I had to getit refilled. It had never felt right since .. Like I honestly dont think they filled it all the way up with the 2nd filling... I know I'm going to have to go to the dentist and quit putting it off but I just hate it!! Does anyone know what options I have? Can they take that tooth out and make me a new one and it be like a tooth implant? How much would that be?

Tooth question!!?
You brush 2-3 times a day for thirty minutes?!

That could add to the problem and erode your teeth...
Reply:Expensive. Stop brushing your teeth for that long. You are really screwing them up that way. Imagine scrubbing your skin in the same place for 90 minutes a day...bad, bad, bad.
Reply:Brushing for 30 seconds to one minute per quadrant is sufficient, if you are brushing correctly.

Fillings are notmeant to last. That they do last is good for you as a patient but they are only temporary, which is why insurance companies will cover replacement fillings every 3-5 years. have a gold crown placed on that tooth, it will last for decades and cost a fraction of an implant, which costs an average of $3000.00 once you have had a root canal (which must be done for this procedure).
Reply:You don't have to necessarily inherit bad teeth. Many people just inherit bad information regarding their teeth. You can brush all day everyday but if you are not flossing than you are missing a huge part of the surfaces of your teeth. Most dental problems start in-between the teeth where your toothbrush can't reach. Flossing ensures that you are getting the plaque and bacteria out from in-between that cause so many problems. Have your dentist or hygienist show you the proper way to floss.
Reply:yeah most of the people hate dentist but they have to visit their dentist or else things wil get worst. ok so your filling didn't felt right. ask your dentist what he/she can do about it because ussually before patient left the dental chair the dentist must make sure that the bite is right. and the patient is ok... you can complain and go back to her/him if his work is not good. or maybe there is a leak in the filling. if the cavity is too big to be filled you can try a root canal. they will get the roots of the teeth but your tooth will still remain in the mouth.

%26gt; it's better to have natural teeth than have your teeth being pulled because if you didn't take good care of you false teeth you will have bad breath... it's easier to manage a real teeth BUT if your not comfortable with your real teeth then you have this options:

1. to have a bridge... if you have a supporting teeth left maybe it can be use as a bridge... a "bridge" as they call it is a false teeth that fill the gap that is missing if you teeth/ tooth is extracted...

-bridge is good if you don't want to wear a denture... especially the removable one. you can have precious, semi precious, procelain, metal, acrylic bridge)

2. denture- probably you already know the concept of this because your relatives have it... unfortunately for those who are denture wearers they have to remove their dentures during night time and whew! ther's no more teeth.

3. crown-if your teeth is not yet extracted and and you really didn't feel comfortable with the filling you may choose crown. they will put a crown in your tooth so that your tooth will have a stronger support in the enamel.

4. root canal- as what i said a while ago.

5. implants- there is mini dental implants and implants... they will put a titanium "pins" inside your bone and they will let it grow and then they will build a tooth on that site where they put the pin/s.

%26gt;if you're afraid of the noise that those machines/ motors sounds then maybe you can go to a dentist that uses LASER... no pain, no needles... but it more expensive that the regular.

%26gt;for your dental plans... it depends upon your insurance. some insurance cover the denture, bridge, crown, root canal, and some... implants. you can ask your insurance company if what are their benefits. some plans just cover the basic... like cleaning, filling, flouride treatment, and xrays...

%26gt; just conquer your fears... maybe you can bring your ipod with you so that you can use it when the procedure strats... so good luck!
Reply:If that tooth feels funny go back to the dentist that filled it and have tham check your bite. It is possible the filling just needs some minor adjustments If the tooth is healthy chances are a dentist will not pull it.

If you do have that tooth extracted your choices are a bridge or an implant. Usually an implant is your best bet. Implants will last a lifetime. Bridges require the 2 adjacent teeth to be prepped for crowns...crowns do not last forever and may have to be replaced down the road.

Bridges are usually covered by insurance. From my experience alot of insurance companies will pay 50% of their fees. Some insurance co. are starting to cover implants...check w/ your provider.

Every area is different when it comes to fees your Dr. will charge. Be prepared to spend a few $1000 for an implant. Bridges can be cheaper, but may have to be replaced which can cost you down the road.

You do have other options. Talk to your dentist. Explain your fears to your Dr. usually they will try to ease your fears.
Reply:yes and it is expensive ~1000
