All my life I have been told that I have a great smile, but in my heart I know that they were lies and it's ok! We never had the money growing up to go to the dendist on a regular basis so my teeth at 39 are not what they could have been, as far as straight and without the over lapping. Finding out now it was probiley best that we didn't spend the money on braces, because it would have been a waste of my moms little money because 3 years ago I found out that I have a diease that eats away at the bone that actually holds your teeth in, it's heredatary. I am still young and the thought of losing my teeth horrifies me! My mouth is in constant pain and most of my teeth are loose. Not much longer. My only option besides false teeth are implants, but after research found out that implants are a small fortune, which I don't have. Is there any dendist out there that could put me on a payment plan, and take little every month? I know this is asking for a lot, but I am desparate. Thanks
Does anyone know of a good, cheap dendist? I need help!?
Call your local community college or university that has a dental school or dental hygiene program. They have clinics that the students use to see the general public while learning. Yes, students would be working on you, but they are supervised by dentists and dental hygienists at every step. The cost is WAY lower than private practice. You will get excellent care. Money is not a motivating factor for them, so you won't have to worry about being encouraged to choose the most expensive option. You won't be sorry... I graduated from dental hygiene school seven years ago and in our clinic the professors were meticulous... the patients were well cared for!
Reply:I don't mean to sound like I am making a joke--but call or write one of those talk shows like Oprah or Montel just about any of them. They often do make over shows and they love "sob stories" like a hereditary bone disease would be, so they might choose you for a show and pay for your dental work.
Reply:You can check out Care Credit. No interest for a year.
Mexican dentists are good and cheaper.
Or google on "dental discount plans". You go to the dentists that are participating.
Or www.affordabledentures.com
Good luck, dear. Everyone has something in life to deal with. At least its not terminal.
Reply:Get on the phone and call the locals in the phone book and ask your questions, the worst they can do is say no.
Some communities have a low cost clinic available also. You might have to call 211 ( United Way directory for locating public services like those above.)
Reply:Where do you live first of all? and let me tell you something, you get what you pay for. It's your mouth. Don't go the cheap route.
Reply:I'm not sure of the area you are searching for a dentist in but I do know about a dental plan that would save you a lot. I have it myself and it is VERY affordable.....Email me and I'll try to help.
Reply:You want a DENTIST! In Justin Texas there is Doc called Dr. Cox who is great! He will tell you just what you want and won't make you feel inferior! Look him up! Love him! God Bless ya
Reply:I too just gotten dentures on top. I done a lot of checking around on price. The cheapest way to get them is by going to one of the schools where they are teaching dentistry. I could of got them there for about 300 bucks. I had a little insurance so I went to a dentist that was known to be good and cheap and it cost me a 1000 bucks. I didn't want to run around for a year without any teeth so I had a temporary made and in a year I will go back and get the permanent dentures made or I am thinking about the implanted dentures. The good news for you is that your teeth are already loose and will not be that hard to get out. Mine was anchored in so hard that they had to cut each molar into and take it out a piece at a time.
As far as the payment plan there are some dentist around here in West Tn that will work with you on it.
Which ever way you decide to go good luck.
